Carpe Diem Game Lodge allows you to escape from the stresses of city life while maintaining the conveniences required to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All structures have been designed to retain the natural look and feel of the surrounding landscape. Water is of excellent drinking quality.
Main Lodge
The main lodge is the heartbeat of Carpe Diem. Its ornate rustic structure with high thatch roof and high quality finishes add to its ambience. The restaurant is set centrally with doors leading onto the outside deck. There is a ladies bar with large cosy couches to laze back in. Upstairs is a separate mezzanine lounge with an outside balcony for further panoramic views.
Restaurant
There is a full lunch and dinner A La Carte menu with breakfast buffets. Catering is arranged to suite any type of function. Our chefs are of top calibre and the cuisine is exquisite.
Chiefs kraal and Boma
The ideal setting for any type of function. There is a large lapa and bar area leading onto an open kraal within which bonfires can be enjoyed under star filled skies. Catering is arranged to suite any type of function.
Health salon
A new service made available to guests. Services are provided upon request.
Conference centre and wedding facilities
Our fully equipped conference centre caters for up to 80 delegates and has all the modern conference equipment you may need.
Airstrip and Helipad
A registered runway 1km in length (compacted dirt) has easy flight access from a north easterly direction. Please see the map page for co-ordinates.
Shops, Banks and Hospitals
All major banks, a variety of convenience stores, and medical facilities are located in the nearby towns of Groblersdal and Marble Hall.
Swimming Pool
The saline swimming pool is central to all facilities and boasts beautiful views of the mountains beyond. There is also a Jacuzzi and sauna.
Wildlife
All game roam freely within the reserve. The type of species include Wildebeest, Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Waterbuck, Eland, Gemsbok, Oryx, Red Hartebeest, Blesbuck, Steenbok, Nyala, Impala, Duiker, Brown Hyenas, Warthog, Baboons, Monkeys, Caracal, Bush pigs, Hedgehogs, and the occasional Leopard.
Birdlife is abundant with many different species.
There are 8 water holes and a sun downer hut for the game viewer or avid birdwatcher.
